My Story
Hello, my name is Haley and I am a foodie! I was born in Newark, New Jersey, and moved to Raleigh, North Carolina at the age of seven. I never had the average childhood, my love for food started before I could even remember. Instead of watching cartoons and playing outside… at 10 I would watch Food Network, and experiment. I will always credit my mother in my culinary development. I would make some outrageous concoctions, and when they didn’t play out successfully she’s say, “that’s okay, try it again”. From then I took on little projects in the kitchen; adding sautéed veggies to our scrambled eggs, adding shrimp and eggs to my ramen and cooking family dinner soon after.
As I developed, I had a love hate relationship with food because I battled obesity, but through exploration and experimentation I found that you can have your cake and eat it too. Focusing on moderation and balancing that with things like fresh ingredients and bold flavors, I taught myself that food can be fun. Through expanding my palette and experimenting, my passion came info fruition and thus HAW Enterprises was born.
I am infatuated with daring flavor combinations and contrasting textures. My southern background screams rich and comforting food while my techniques and adventurousness is sparked by my New Jersey roots.
