Cheesy Crab Biscuits w/ Garlic Butter
Listen, it is no secret that I love seafood and biscuits… so I thought, ‘why not combine them?’ A couple of months ago I made Red Lobsters Cheddar Bay Biscuits with shrimp, and my family LOVED them. Experimenting in the kitchen is what I do, so I decided to switch it up a little and add lump crab meat instead.
If you’re feeling lazy like I was you can just go to your local grocery store and grab a box of biscuit mix… or you can take the road less traveled and make homemade biscuits. I snagged my box from Harris Teeter for about $3.29 and an 8oz can of jumbo crab meat from the seafood section for about $30. You can customize this recipe by adding green onions or fresh parsley, but I decided to keep it simple. I ditched the ingredients on the back of the box and followed my recipe. For less gooey biscuits use half the amount of cream cheese! Let’s get to it!

Cheesy Crab Biscuits w/ Garlic Butter
HaleyEquipment
- Baking Sheet
- Hand Mixer or whisk
- Gloves
Ingredients
- 1 box Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuit Mix
- ½ block Cream Cheese
- 8oz container Lump Crabmeat
- 1 cup Cheddar Cheese
- ¾ cup Water Ice Cold
- 1 tsp Cajun Seasoning
- 4 tbsp Butter
- 1 tbsp Roasted Garlic
- Olive Oil or Non-Stick Spray
Instructions
- Add biscuit mix and cream cheese into mixing bowl and mix until a sand-like consistency forms.
- Keep the mixer on low and gradually add in water (about 2 tablespoons at a time). The texture should be thick and sticky. Toss in cheese and mix until fully combined.
- Drain and dump in your crab meat. Sprinkle in seasonings and gently combine by hand to keep crab meat intact.
- Spray hands and baking sheet with oil of choice (I recommend a neutral flavor oil) and form biscuit dough into roughly 6-8 round balls. Place baking sheet with at least 1½ inch of space in between.
- Bake biscuits on 350 for about 14 to 20 minutes or until they are golden on the outside and fluffy inside.
- Melt butter and add in the seasoning packet and roasted garlic. Mix & drizzle on top of biscuits. Serve warm!
