Orange Ombre Coffee Cake

Where do I begin?! Let’s start with the design, one of my new favorite customers messaged me and inquired about an orange rosette cake. I’ve done rosette cakes before, but I instantly got excited when she asked for ombré. If you’ve followed my page for a while you’d know that I hop on any opportunity to make ombré make an apperance in my cakes because it is so simple and beautiful. 

She also wanted alcohol, but when I suggested wine she was all in. I was on a hunt to find the perfect mini wine bottles to match the orange and Sutter Home was a winner. The wine bottles paired with a custom topper make for a beautiful cake, but I thought it needed something else. I whipped up a little bit of white icing, colored it green and searched for my leaf tip. After adding my special touches, the cake was finished! The inside is a deliciously moist coffee cake with whipped icing… YUM!
